A Very International National Championships Season

As spring turns to summer, championship racing is on the books.  This year, Strava TC is appearing in the national track and field championships of four different countries.

In late June, Maya Weigel ventured to Des Moines to run the USA Outdoor Championships for the first time.  Having already improved her personal best from 2017 by 31 seconds, she braved the heat and humidity to earn a solid 13th place and valuable learning experiences for future years.

The following week, Matt Leach ran in his first senior British Championships, and although running boldly early in the 5000m, he left room for 2019 motivation with a 15th place finish after lowering his personal best to 13:53 this season. He bounced back quickly with a win and a runner-up finishe at a British Athletics League meet the first weekend in July.

On July 14th, Tori Tsolis competed in her first Greek Championships as a dual citizen, and came away with the 1500m title in a well-timed stretch run for  4:18.1.  She heads to the Balkan Championships on July 21.

Natalie Tanner is prepping to represent Germany at the European Championships in the 10,000m, but also running the 5000m at their national championships on July 21 in Frankfurt.
